Pittsburgh Steelers (13-3) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (11-6)

NFL Divisional Playoffs: Sunday January 14th, 2018, 1:05 PM ET | Heinz Field

Line: Pittsburgh Steelers -7

Over/Under: 41

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be playing their first playoff game of 2018 this weekend when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon. Last time the Steelers played they squeaked out a win against the Cleveland Browns by a score of 28-24. As a team they allowed 374 to the Browns which is a bit worrisome now that it is playoff time. Since they have had an extra week to prepare they should be sharp and ready to go against a very good defense. Ben Roethlisberger must play much better than he did when they played the Jaguars earlier in the season where he threw five interceptions. Antonio Brown is going to be a huge factor for the Steelers and if he does not have good game it might be a long afternoon for the Steelers. Earlier this week Le’Veon Bell threatened to retire if the Steelers franchise tag him again but reports say Bell will be able to play for this playoff game with the Jaguars. With Bell back the Steelers can use a balanced playbook and do not have to just rely on the passing game to earn a spot in the AFC Championship game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off a rather ugly win last week against the Buffalo Bills. They won this game by a score of 10-3 and scored their only touchdown on a converted 4th down. On the flip side their defense played very well allowing 263 total yards and forcing two turnovers including an interception in the final seconds by Jalen Ramsey to secure the win for the Jaguars. The Jaguars’ offense is going to have to play better because it is unlikely that they will limit the Steelers to just 3 points. Blake Bortles was held to just 87 yards passing on 12 of 23, but he did throw the only touchdown that was enough for the Jaguars to advance to the divisional round. On Sunday look for Leonard Fournette to continue his great rookie year and make it very hard for the Steelers’ defense to slow him down.

I believe this will be a defensive game because it is going to be very cold in Pittsburgh and there and there always is still a chance to snow, so we may see a low scoring game. The Jaguars’ defense has been impressive for most of the season, but playoff veteran, Ben Roethlisburger will be a much tougher test to face than the last time the Jaguars faced the Steelers in week 5 of the regular season. My pick for this game is going to be the Jacksonville Jaguars to keep the game within a touchdown. However, I do think the Pittsburgh Steelers will end up winning this game, but it will be a lot closer than most people may think.
