Welcome to the wild card round of the NFL playoffs. Both these times had a slow first half of the season and then found their grooves in the second half. The Seahawks went 6-2 the second half of the season and needed to play well for awhile now because of how close the wild card race was. Seattle earned the first wild card spot and they won a lot of close games to be here. The Cowboys went 7-1 in the second half of the season and over a month ago, had an impressive win over the always tough New Orleans Saints. Dallas has had mostly close wins during this hot stretch of good games and they haven’t lost at home since November fifth against the Titans. This should be another close one and an amazing quarterback duel. Saturday’s quarterbacks are Russell Wilson vs Dak Prescott.

The Seattle Seahawks are back in the postseason after failing to make it last season with a 9-7 record. It wasn’t easy for Seattle this year. This team was at the .500 mark at the midway point of the season and their games were all over the place. The Seahawks lost their identity and playing style. Then just like that, the team surged behind Russell Wilson and running back Chris Carson. Carson has rushed for over 100 yards in each of the last three games. Now the Seahawks beat the Cowboys at home by a score of 24-13, back on September 23rd. After a scoreless first quarter, the Seahawks soared in the second, and went up 17-3. It was mostly a defensive game in every other quarter, Earl Thomas intercepted Prescott twice, and Carson rushed for 102 yards. That was one of their best defensive games of the year and they will look to repeat the effort, on the road, where the Seahawks are 4-4.

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the hottest teams going into the postseason. This team was 3-5 at one point, lost too many close games, and just didn’t play well with the talent they had. Now you have Prescott taking care of the ball, having great yardage games, along with multiple passing touchdowns. He also has multiple weapons he can throw too in the receiver core. Amari Cooper will make some big plays happen and from time to time this season, the guy has ended up with 150 plus receiving yards in a game. Now when the Cowboys lost to the Seahawks in week three, the team was a mess. Prescott threw two interceptions and couldn’t get the offense going. However, Ezekiel Elliott was able to get 127 yards rushing on 16 carries. With the addition of Cooper and a more confident Prescott, the Cowboys can really lasso up that Seahawk defense.

So who will win this NFC Wild Card game? The Seahawks have the slight edge in the quarterback battle because of Wilsons postseason experience, but both are great leaders of their offense. Carson has had more amazing rushing yard games, but Elliott shows up during big games. Seattle has good lineman but have some holes in the secondary. This game will mostly be a defensive game early and then will have some good drives in the second half. The Cowboys will win this game late 20-17.

Pick: Dallas Cowboys -130
