Seattle Seahawks (11-5) vs Green Bay Packers (13-3)
NFL: Sunday, January 12, 2020 6:40 PM (Lambeau Field)
ML: Seahawks +165, Packers -195, Over/Under 46.5 (MyBookie)
Odds: Packers -4 (MyBookie)
The Seattle Seahawks were able to make it past the wildcard against the Philadelphia Eagles, winning 17-9. DK Metcalf had a career day, hauling in 7 receptions for 160 yards and a touchdown. However, the game itself was rough. Ziggy Ansah, Quinton Jefferson, and Marquise Blair are all listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. Also, it seems that Jadeveon Clowney is playing with a sports hernia, and I have no idea how he’s playing through that pain.
The Green Bay Packers were on a bye week after earning the #2 spot for the season. They needed that extra week to hopefully get Kenny Clark healthy for the game. Their 7-1 home record shows they can win at home too.
Usually, the Seahawks are dominant at home and typically are only alright on the road. This season is the opposite of the Seahawks norm. They’re 7-1 on the road this season and were able to pull off a victory against the Eagles with even more injuries. Granted, the early head injury to Carson Wentz played a major role, but still won their first road playoff game since 2012.
When you see a 13-3 record, you would think of a team with a top 5 offense or defense, but the Packers don’t even make the top 10 in almost every category. During the offseason, the Green Bay Packers are 18th in offensive yards, 15th in points scored, and 18th in yards allowed. The categories they are in the top 10 however are takeaways (7th) turnover differential (+12, 3rd) and points allowed (9th).
Seattle are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against Green Bay.
Seattle are 7-3 SU in their last 10 games this season.
The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Seattle’s last 7 games against an opponent in the NFC North division.
Green Bay are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games when playing at home against Seattle.
Green Bay are 6-1 SU in their last 7 games this season.
The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Green Bay’s last 8 games against an opponent in the NFC conference.
I can’t see the Seahawks going into Lambeau Field with major injuries and walking out with a win. This game is going to be closer than everyone thinks though. Expect a comeback win for Aaron Rodgers as he continues to make an argument being for one of the best quarterbacks of all time.
