The other positions that wins the award is wide receivers and running backs. A running back hasn’t won the MVP since Terrell Davis in 1998. Player Odds
Patrick Mahomes -115
Jimmy Garoppolo +275
Raheem Mostert +550
George Kittle +1000
Nick Bosa +1600
Travis Kelce +1600
Tyreek Hill +1600
Damien Williams +2500
Deebo Samuel +2500
Richard Sherman +2500

The quarterbacks for both teams are the favorites to take home the Super Bowl MVP award. Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is the overwhelming favorite and 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo is a close 2nd. The other odds were very interesting.

Patrick Mahomes- Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback, -115

Mahomes is arguably the best quarterback in the NFL. Last season he was the NFL MVP after having an historic season. This season he started off great, but injuries slowed him down in the middle of the season. However, going into the last half of the season he was great and he has continued that same level of play in the playoffs. Through two playoff game Mahomes is averaging over 300 passing yards with 8 touchdown passes. Mahomes has also ran the ball very well in the postseason. He rushed for over 100 yards and one rushing touchdown in the two games leading up to the Super Bowl.

Jimmy Garoppolo- San Francisco 49ers, +275

Garoppolo hasn’t thrown the ball much in this playoff run the 49ers are on. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has decided to put the ball in the running backs hands more. He has leaned more on control the time of possession instead of throwing the ball all over the field. However, Garoppolo is more than capable of carrying the 49ers to victory in this game. He has the talent to do it. This season he had three games where he threw four touchdown passes in a single game. Also, against the New Orleans Saints he led his team on a game winning drive.

Raheem Mostert- San Francisco 49ers, +550

Mostert has had a great postseason thus far. He completely took over the NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers. In that game he ran for 220 yards and 4 touchdowns. He has shiftiness and speed that will pose a problem for the Chiefs defense. Kansas City run defense isn’t very good and this is also one of the reasons Mostert is so high on the Super Bowl MVP odds list.

George Kittle- San Francisco 49ers, +1000

Kittle is the best all around tight end in the NFL. He is a matchup nightmare for every team in the NFL because he has a combination of size and speed. Over the last two years Kittle has led tight ends in receiving yards. He led the 49ers in catches and receiving yards. A tight end has never won the Super Bowl MVP.

Nick Bosa- San Francisco 49ers, +1600

Bosa is an underrated pick to win Super Bowl MVP. However, only two defensive ends have won the Super Bowl MVP, but Nick Bosa has all the tools to have a monster game this Sunday. In the playoffs he has registered three sacks thus far. Bosa knows how to get after the quarterback and he can also stop the run at the defensive end position. If the defense is the main reason the 49ers win the Super Bowl and he has multiple sacks then he has a good chance to win Super Bowl MVP.

Free Super Bowl MVP Pick

I like Jimmy Garoppolo to win the MVP award because I think the game will come down to him. Kansas City is going to sell out and try to stop the run which is the strongest part of the 49er’s offense. With all of the doubts Garoppolo has got leading up to the Super Bowl, he should be highly motivated to prove them wrong. Garoppolo has the talent to put up big numbers tomorrow and believe he will lead the 49ers to victory.

Garoppolo +275
