NFL Picks Denver Broncos vs Tennessee Titans
Welcome to this Week 6, AFC South Division vs AFC West Division matchup between the Tennessee Titans and Denver Broncos. The Titans have been in win-loss mode and the offense is still trying to get things going. After scoring 43 points in Week 1, they have struggled to have another great offense performance. Last week, they lost to the Buffalo Bills 14-7. Quarterback Marcus Mariota went 13 for 22, for 183 yards, and zero touchdowns. The Broncos have also had an inconsistent offense and they finally got their first win of the season. So, maybe they can get a good streak of wins going. Last week, they had a surprising 20-13 road win against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Broncos had a 17-0 lead at the half and quarterback Joe Flacco went 14 for 20, for 182 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. This will definitely be a toss up game and will come down to which quarterback executes a little better.
The Titans are lacking an identity. This team has a good defense, but that can only help so much, when you fail to pile up the scoreboard. Mariota has shown that he is just an average quarterback. The Titans haven’t seen a standout performance yet from any of their offensive guys. Running back Derrick Henry can sometimes be that guy, but he can also be very inconsistent with his numbers. Despite all this, the Titans are right in the race to win the clustered AFC South. Tennessee’s offense needs to try and get a little better. They are ranked towards the bottom of the NFL in a lot of offensive categories. Mariota can only do so much, when his offensive line lets him down a lot. He needs to get rid of the ball quicker and let Henry do some damage with his legs.
The Broncos are trying to slowly turn things around. They have been in a lot of close games and they really just need one more successful drive, late in games, to put them in the win column more. Their win last week gave them some believe, but this team is still a mystery. Running back Phillip Lindsay will need to keep those rushing numbers high and the defense needs to keep putting up some nice stops. The defense was awful to start the season, but now they are getting to the quarterback more and the red zone defense has been solid. Denver needs to focus on running the ball more and using Flaccos arm every now and then. Flacco isn’t the elite quarterback that he use to be, but he can still get that big throw off every once and awhile. This team needs to take care of the ball and try to capitalize on some good drives, instead of bad turnovers.
NFL Scores Tennessee Titans vs Denver Broncos
So, who will win this matchup between two struggling offenses? The Titans have had victories against two bad teams, while the Broncos have been in nothing but close games. Both these teams have struggled on offense, but the defense has made up for it. This game will come down to which team turns the ball over less and then executes on the other teams mistake. The running game will be the x-factor and Henry wins the head to head matchup over Lindsay. Mariota hasn’t turned the ball over yet this season and that is pretty good, considering how many times he gets sacked, or pressured from the defense. He will try to make better plays, that can change games. Titans win this grind out game 17-14.
