Tennessee Titans (9-7) vs. New England Patriots (13-3)

NFL Football: Saturday, January 13th, 2018, 8:15 PM @ Gillette Stadium

Line & Odds: New England Patriots -1,100        Spread: Patriots -13.5       Over/Under: 47.5

The Tennessee Titans have the unfortunate task of traveling to Gillette Stadium to take on the AFC East leading New England Patriots on Saturday night. This will not end well for them as the Patriots have been dealing with some off the field controversy that I am positive has Bill Belichick and Tom Brady fuming. The Titans will rely heavily on both Marcus Mariota to control the game and Derrick Henry to pound the ball. Mariota is coming off of a great come from behind victory at Kansas City against the Chiefs having thrown for 2 touchdown passes including one to himself! He also ran for 46 yards on eights carries. Henry had a breakout game last week as he ran for 156 yards on 23 carries adding one touchdown to the stat line. They will look to carry the magic over to this game however, they may need an actual wizard present to pull off a victory against the Pats.

The New England Patriots are coming into this game with a bit of controversy hanging over their head as it appears the Belichick/Brady era is coming to an end. There are rumors that Belichick was upset that the Patriots traded away Jimmy Garoppolo who he believed would be the future of New England football. Unfortunately for both Belichick and Garoppolo, Tom Brady is a vampire. He simply doesn’t age. As per sources, Brady intends on playing until the age of 45. And why not? Brady finished the regular season having thrown for 4,577 yards with 32 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions. To put those numbers into perspective, Brady led the league in yards and ranked third in touchdowns and he’s 40 years old.

Current Trends courtesy of CTS365:

Tennessee is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against New England

Tennessee is 0-5 SU in their last 5 games on the road against New England

New England is 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games

New England is is 11-1 SU in their last 12 games

I really want to think of something nice to say about the Tennessee Titans and this upcoming game. However, they play the New England Patriots. The only way the win this game is if Tom Brady gets injured. Don’t get me wrong, I really like Marcus Mariota and Derrick Henry is definitely the future running back for years to come but they stand no chance this weekend. The Patriots have covered the spread 9 of their last 10 games so I am putting my money on them at -13.5. Yes that is two touchdowns to cover and the truth is I believe they will cover 3 touchdowns. One day, Brady will retire and the NFL will be up for grabs once again but until then, keep betting Patriots!! Good luck out there and please remember to check out our other free NFL playoff picks courtesy of Cover the Spread 365!
