TOP FIVE NFL COACHES ON THE HOT SEAT

Coaching in the NFL is a tough business. Many coaches have said you are hired to be fired. Every coach knows that the NFL is a result oriented business and if you do not produce, you will be canned. Five head coaches better have a good 2018 or they will find themselves out of a job.

GET US TO THE PLAYOFFS ARE WE ARE GOING TO REPLACE YOU: JOHN HARBAUGH, BALTIMORE RAVENS

Some of you are wondering why a Super Bowl winning coach is on the hot seat. Baltimore Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh is a good football coach but lately Harbaugh’s teams have not lived up to the high standards we expect of the Ravens. In his first five seasons Harabaugh’s teams had a regular season record of 54-26 and a playoff record of 9-4, but in the next five seasons his teams were just 40-40 with a playoff record of 1-1. When you have missed playoffs four of the past five seasons, there will be immense pressure on your team to reach the postseason in 2018. If you think there is not a sense of urgency in Baltimore, the first-round acquisition of Quarterback Lamar Jackson (Whom the Ravens traded up to get) sends a clear message that we need to win now or else.

WE HAVE GIVEN YOU ENOUGH TIME IT’S TIME FOR YOU TO PRODUCE: HUE JACKSON, CLEVELAND BROWNS

I like Cleveland Browns Head Coach Hue Jackson, he is a very good offensive minded coach who can get the most out of the offensive talent he is coaching. It is time for Hue Jackson to start producing in Cleveland. If you have not watched football lately, the Browns have been flat out awful the past two seasons going 1-31, including a 0-16 season last season. In those 32 games the Browns have lost 16 games, that’s right 16 games by two touchdowns or more. The 2018 Cleveland Browns have more talent and should have a decent record. Jackson cannot afford to have an awful showing again this season, if he does there will be another coach in Cleveland.

WE ARE GOING TO GIVE YOU A CHANCE, BUT WE ARE STILL GOING TO FIRE YOU: DIRK KOETTER, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach Dirk Koetter to put it lightly is sitting duck, or to make light of the situation a sitting buc. Many people were surprised that Koetter was brought back after a dismal 5-11 campaign, but the Buccaneers management saw enough in him to give him a second year.  This is how your head coach will start his 2018 season, his first three games will be against New Orleans, Philadelphia and  Pittsburgh . To make matters worse he will be without his starting Quarterback Jameis Winston, who was suspended the first three games for violating the NFL’S personal conduct policy. It’s not Koettter fault totally, Jameis Winston has not lived up to expectations and General Manger Jason Lichth has flamed out on big money free agents.

WE HAVE GOTTEN RID OF EVERYONE ELSE, IF YOU DON’T GET TO THE POSTSEASON WE WILL GET RID OF YOU: JAY GRUDEN, WASHINGTON REDSKINS

Jay Gruden is in a tough position, he must make the playoffs to save his job. When I look at his roster, they did trade for Alex Smith who a solid quarterback ; however the rest of his roster has nothing but question marks. It does not help they play in the NFC East, where in my opinion they are the least talented team in this division. Gruden will need a miracle to save his job.

WE ALEADY TEARING IT DOWN, HAVE ANOTHER LOSING SEASON YOUR OUT: PETE CARROLL, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

There is a very strong argument that can be made that Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll has been a top five coach over the past couple of seasons. I’m not questioning Carroll’s ability to coach this about his current situation. We can clearly see the Seahawks are in rebuilding or remodeling mode, which ever one you would like to call it. Several players such as Richard Sherman, Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett and Cam Chancellor have either been cut, traded or retired. The Birds play in a division that clearly as of now the Los Angeles Rams own and the San Francisco 49ers have some up and coming talent, and the Arizona Cardinals have always fielded a good competitive team. I don’t see this team winning more than six games, if that happens another voice maybe needed in the Emerald City.
