NHL Picks and Parlays Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Boston Bruins

Boston Bruins

Boston is just one win away from earning a spot in the Eastern Conference finals. Throughout this series, Boston has fought valiantly and shown great focus to reach this point. Early on in the series, things looked very bleak for Boston as they fell 1-2 in the series after dropping two straight games in which their offensive output was less than ideal. Since then, the Bruins have won two straight and scored 4 goals in both games. The brightest star recently for the Bruins has been David Pastrnak who is a big reason why the Bruins were able to pull off their thrilling 4-3 win over the Blue Jackets in Game 5. With Columbus on the ropes, the Bruins are going to once again need this level of production from their first line.

To add to the challenge, Monday night’s game is in Columbus so the Blue Jackets will be further motivated to make sure they are not eliminated from the playoffs in front of their home crowd. Despite being so close to the next round, the Bruins know that they cannot allow themselves to get caught up in the moment. Or else, they may find themselves fighting for their playoff life in a Game 7. Momentum in the playoffs moves swiftly. At the beginning of the series, Boston had taken a 1-0 lead and all of a sudden, they were down 2-1 and engaged in a must-win Game 4. This game will be quite the mental test for the Bruins.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Like the Bruins, tonight’s game will be quite the mental test for the Blue Jackets as well. The confidence of the Blue Jackets must’ve taken a substantial hit after dropping two straight games to the Bruins that included a painful 1-4 loss and a painful 4-3 loss. The Blue Jackets do not have much time to lick their wounds as they have to return home and host the Bruins in a must-win game tonight. The Blue Jackets are fighting for their season in today’s game so they cannot afford to commit the same mistakes that we have seen from them in the last two games. Recently, the Blue Jackets coach guaranteed that the Blue Jackets would extend the series to a Game 7 so it will be interesting to see how the coach prepared his team for tonight’s game.

The silent hero of the Blue Jackets in this series has been Artemi Panarin who has had substantial production of late. As a matter of fact, Panarin has had fourteen assists and eight goals in his last twenty-two goals. However, the Blue Jackets are going to need ramped up production from everyone in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. In particular, the Blue Jackets are going to have to find a way to contain the Bruins’ offense which has suddenly caught fire. Moreover, based on their last performance, the Bruins’ offense is most likely brimming with confidence right now and looking to score early and often in tonight’s game.
