Los Angeles Kings (30-19-5) vs Tampa Bay Lightning (37-14-3)

NHL: Saturday, February 10th, 2018, 7:00 PM ET | Amalie Arena

Line and Odds: Lightning -215 Over/Under: 5.5

Los Angeles (30-19-5) beat the Florida on Friday night 3-1 and look to make it a sweep on the state of Florida today against the Lightning. The Kings have won 3 in a row and 7 out of 9. This was following a 6 game losing streak. Besides the 6 game losing streak the Kings have played really well. They sit in 2nd place behind Vegas in the Pacific Division. The Kings are led by Andrei Kopitar who leads the team in points, goals and assists with 58, 22, and 36 respectively. As a team the rank just 18th in goals scored per game (2.9), but 2nd overall in goals against per game (2.4). Quick and Kuemper have split the last ten games at goal but both have great goals against average. They may not score a ton but the goalies have kept them in many games this year.

Tampa Bay (37-14-3) is currently in first place in the Atlantic Division by 3 points over the Bruins and lead Vegas by 1 point for the best record in the NHL. The Lightning are currently the top scoring team in the NHL at 3.6 goals per game and they have the defense to go with it as they currently rank 6th in goals against at 2.6 per game. They slipped up against Edmonton on Monday but bounced back by beating the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday 5-2. They have won 6 out of their last 8 games. The biggest question for them is can they keep up this torrid pace and stay atop the NHL standings. Nikita Kucherov leads the team in points and goals with 68 and 28 respectively. Steven Stamkos leads the team in assists with 42. Andrei Vasilevskiy has been solid in goal for them all year with just a 2.27 goals against average, along with 7 shutouts. They have looked like the best team this year and look to continue that through the second half of the year.

The Lighting score a lot of goals and the Kings do not give up many goals. So which one will prevail today? Tampa has played well at home, and basically on the road also. The Kings have been playing much better and look for the sweep of Florida tonight. They may surprise me but I see a low scoring game today. I could definitely see a 2-0 or 2-1 game. It this game were in LA, I would pick the Kings. But its in Tampa and I think that is enough for the Lightning to win tonight. Tampa gets the win but in a low scoring game. Take the under and take the Lightning.

Pick: Lightning -215
