NHL Scores San Jose Sharks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning
The hockey team from the Big Guava City (Tampa, FL) will begin their road trip tonight when they take on the San Jose Sharks. They are a strong offensive team, and they are sure to be a tremendous challenge for the Sharks even in front of their home crowd at the SAP Center. San Jose is a team that is looking for a bit of a shot in the arm because they have dropped four out of their five games. Can the Lightning continue their winning ways? Can San Jose use this game to rebound? Either way, it should be an interesting game to watch and wager on.
If San Jose is going to have any chance of winning this game, they will probably have to look to Erik Karlsson with his 36 points, 6 goals, and 32 assists for some inspiration. Unfortunately, the biggest problem for the Sharks has been their lack of consistency. Their goal average is slightly below average at 2.8 per game, but that would be manageable if they had a solid defense to back it up. Unfortunately, they don't. They are currently allowing an average of 3.33 goals per game. If they are going to upset the Lightning, they are going to have to get better production from their goalkeepers.
If there is one thing that Tampa Bay has, it would be a strong offense. They are bolstered by the play of Nikita Kucherov, who has 68 points, 22 goals, and 38 assists. This has assisted the Lightning in have an offense that is averaging about 3.58 goals per game, as well as having a defense that is only allowing 2.64 goals per game. This is a team that is known for fast and energetic hockey, so they are going to push the Sharks from the beginning.
