NHL Pick Boston Bruins vs Toronto Maple Leafs
The Boston Bruins finished the season ranked second in the Atlantic Division with a 49-24-9 record. The Atlantic Division has been the division to watch throughout the regular season the likes of the Lightning and the Maple Leafs.
Throughout the regular season, the Bruins put up some very impressive numbers ranking the upper-half of the league in team stats. The team has proven their strengths on the defensive side of the ice ranking third in the league in goals against only allowing an average 2.59 per game. Individually, Brad Marchand has played a key role in the team’s success during the regular season. Marchand put up some impressive numbers this season leading the team in both assists (64) and points (100). Marchand also received a lot of help from the team’s lead goal scorer David Pastrnak with 38 goals on the season.
The Maple Leafs ranked just below the Bruins this season with a 46-28-8 record placing them at third in the Atlantic Division. With last summer’s free-agent addition John Tavares, the team has really made an impact on the division. Tavares had really stepped up for the team this season as he leads the team in goals with 47. The team also received help from the fellow center, Mitch Marner, who had quite the season leading the team in assists and points.
Collectively, the Leafs had established themselves as a top-ranked offensive team in the league this year. The averaged 3.49 per game which ranks them at fourth in the league. In terms of goals against they ranked 20th with 3.04 which may be due to their questionable defensive and goalie strength. The team on the defensive side has raised some questions throughout the regular season. The team will face a challenge entering their series against the well-rounded Bruins in the first round.

NHL Prediction Toronto Maple Leafs vs Boston Bruins
During the regular season, the Bruins ran away with the win taking the series 3-1. While we can sit here and look at the regular season and look at the stats, the playoffs mark a fresh start for all of the teams as they pursue their end goal of the Stanley Cup. With that being said, I got to take the Bruins in this matchup as they are on home ice and look to expose Toronto’s weakness on the defensive side of the ice. I also believe that the Bruins will pick up the win in the series but with Toronto picking up one or two wins.
