The Calgary Flames will travel to Queen City to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs. This NHL contest will be broadcasted on the Sports Network.

They Calgary Flames come into this game   losers five of their last seven games.  Last Monday, the Flames were beaten by the Philadephia Flyers 5-2. With the win, the Flyers ended a 10 game losing streak. The Flyers offense had only scored five goals are more four times this season.  The game was tied a one apiece heading into the second period but in the third period, the Flames were outscored 3-1.  Flyers Goalie Brian Elliott had 43 saves in the game. For the Flames, Troy Brouwer and Sean Monaham scored goals. One strange stat is that the Flames outshot the Flyers 45-21; however sometimes they puck goes in and sometimes it doesn’t.  Coming into this contest the Flames are averaging 2.9 goals and giving up 3.3 goals a game.  They are also averaging 20.4 percent on the power play.  The two players two watch in this game for this team are Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan. Gaudreau, has put up 36 points and 24 assists on the season, both lead the team. Monaham, has 15 goals on the season that leads the team.

The Toronto Maple Leafs come into this contest dropping four of their last seven games. Last Saturday the Maples lost to Vancouver 2-1. It was only the fourth time that the Maples failed to score only one goal in a game.  Vancouver scored two goals in the first period and that was all they needed.  Canucks Goalie Jacob Markstrom was nothing short of a brick wall, stopping 35 shots. Coming into this game Toronto is putting up 3.5 goals and giving up 3.0 goals a game, they are averaging 22.9 percent on the power play. The players to watch for the Maple Leafs are Auston Matthews, William Nylander and Frederik Anderson. Matthews, has 26 points and 13 goals on the season. Nylander, has 15 assists to lead the team and Goalie Frederik Anderson has 15 wins a goalie.

The Flames are 12-13 ATS and the Maple Leafs are 16-11ATS this season.

Something has to give. Both of these teams come into this contest on losing streaks but I will take Toronto tonight. This is just a hunch pick. The Flames have not been playing well as of late, so take the Maple Leafs tonight.
