ESPN NHL Scores Vegas Golden Knights vs. Florida Panthers
The Vegas Golden Knights come into town to face off against the Florida Panthers at the BB&T Center in NHL tonight. The Golden Knights come into this game somewhat dejected because they have lost five of their last seven games. To say they would love to steal a win coming out of Florida would be an understatement. However, if there is any bright spot for the Golden Knights, it would have to be in the fact that the Florida Panthers are not doing that much better. Indeed, they have lost six of their last nine hockey games themselves. One thing is for sure: somebody’s got to come out on top, so it’ll be a fun game to watch and wager on.
During this stretch, the Vegas Golden Knights are averaging three goals per game and they are only capitalizing on 17.9 percent of their power play opportunities. They are bolstered by goal leader Jonathan Marchessault, coming in at 17 goals. They also have 24 assists from Alex Tuch and 105 shots on goal by William Karlsson. Marc-Andre Fleury has given up 111 goals on 1,245 shots faced and his backup Malcolm Subban has allowed 22 goals on 228 shots. So the skill is definitely there for the Vegas Golden Knights, it just seems they cannot get the job done when crunch time comes.
The Florida Panthers are doing somewhat better than their Vegas counterparts. They are scoring on about 26.8 percent of their power play opportunities and they are averaging about 3.1 goals per game. They are led by Mike Hoffman with 23 goals and Jonathan Huberdeau with 37 assists. Unfortunately, the Florida Panthers are also allowing 3.5 goals per game, so even though their offense might be better their defense hasn’t matched up. Goalies Roberto Luongo and James Reimer have done split duty, with Luongo giving up 70 goals out of 673 faced and Reimer allowing 72 goals out of 696 flying pucks.

ESPN NHL Picks Florida Panthers vs. Vegas Golden Knights
I am going to go with the Vegas Golden Knights but only because they have a winning record. Even though they haven’t done it lately, they have shown they can play consistently by their record. Otherwise, I have to admit this game is a bit of a tough call. I could easily picture Florida pulling an upset since they are on their home ice and Vegas just hasn’t been playing well lately. However, of course Florida hasn’t been playing well lately either. Vegas wins in a close one, and I’ll bet that this game could go over the spread as well.
