NHL Scores Washington Capitals vs. Carolina Hurricanes
The Washington Capitals come into town to take on the Carolina Hurricanes in NHL action Thursday night. The Capitals are going to try to build on their back-to-back wins and Carolina is going to try to rebound after these same Capitals defeated them 4-1 on Tuesday night. Should be a fun doubleheader game to watch and wager on.
In their last game against the Carolina Hurricanes, the Washington Capitals began the scoring with a goal in the beginning of the second period by T.J. Oshie. The Carolina Hurricanes would answer on the scoring with a goal from Dougie Hamilton. The two teams would go into the third period deadlocked and then Alex Ovechkin hit paydirt for the 49th time this season to make it a 2-1 score. The Caps would score again with John Carlson for a 3-1 advantage and then Nicklas Backstrom would cap things off (no pun intended) with an empty netter and Washington would seal the deal for a 4-1 victory.
The Hurricanes have done well in their last 24 games, sporting an overall 17-7 record. They are bolstered by Sebastian Aho with 30 goals, Teuvo Teravainen with 51 assists, and Sebastian Aho also leads with 80 points. The Hurricanes are also in the middle of a dogfight within their division for a wildcard playoff spot. Because of that, it would appear to me that the Hurricanes would have a slight edge in the betting.

NHL Fanduel Carolina Hurricanes vs. Washington Capitals
In a way, it is definitely tempting to go with the Washington Capitals in this game. They are certainly on a roll. However, they pretty much have a division title likely wrapped up, and again, the Hurricanes are still fighting for that wildcard spot. Considering that the impetus is on Carolina to win, I would not be surprised to see the Hurricanes win this time. For this situation, I’ll take the Hurricanes.
