NCAA FOOTBALL PICKS #10 Florida Gators vs #7 Auburn Tigers
Welcome to this Week 6, SEC Conference showdown between the #7 Auburn Tigers and the #10 Florida Gators. The Tigers have had a mix of close wins and blowout victories. They have only played a few tough teams this season, but a win is a win, and they have had some swagger. Last week, they beat Mississippi State 56-23. The game was over by halftime. Quarterback Bo Nix went 16 for 21, for 335 yards, and two touchdowns. The Gators defense has been lethal this season. The defense has given up three points or less in three of their five games. Also, three of their five games this season have been blowout wins. Last week, they shut out Towson 38-0. The Gators had some steady scoring throughout the game and quarterback Kyle Trask went 18 for 20, for 188 yards, and two touchdowns. Both these teams have had a somewhat easy schedule so far and one of them will get their first loss of the season on Saturday.
The Tigers have been an interesting team this season. They somehow found ways to win even when they take stupid penalties, struggle to get those big turnovers, and have an okay passing game. When all else fails, the defense is always there and Auburn has it. That line is holding up very well against the run. The defense has just enough of pressure on the quarterback and even though they can’t get quick turnovers, they sure can get stops when they need to. Also, their rushing game has led the way for them. JaTarvious Whitlow has been great rushing and he has gone over 100 yards in four out of five games this season. He probably won’t rush for 100 yards this week, but he can still cause some damage. Nix will have some key passes at the right time, but it will be all about the rushing game and defense for the Tigers to do well.
The Gators have played strong this season and their defense is the reason why. With their offense, Trask has been playing amazing. In his last two games as a starter, he has a 79 percent completion percentage. The guy doesn’t throw that many incomplete passes and that efficiency will continue against the Tigers. The Gators struggle on third down opportunities and they will need to start converting on those chances because it will be a difference maker in this game. Van Jefferson will get a few catches again and make the most of them, with some great yardage for his team. The Florida defense will be solid again, especially the pass rush. The offense will start slow again, but will control the tempo of the game. Florida needs to get some good drives, don’t turn the ball over, and the defense will lead the way. At times, the Gators don’t play pretty football, but they still find a way to get the victory.
NCAA Football Scores #7 Auburn Tigers vs #10 Florida Gators
So, who will win this SEC Conference showdown? The Tigers are a confident team right now and playing better each week. Their offensive and defensive lines should be able to contain the Gators front guys, but they won’t be able to do it for the full game. This might be a low scoring game, the Florida defense will be a wall again, and they will do a good job at containing the Tigers rushing game. Both this teams have slowly got their running games going and a key factor in this game will be which team gets the legs going faster. The Gators are good at creating turnovers, but the Tigers can counter that with quick stops on defense. Trask’s accuracy in this game could easily be the x-factor and give Florida the victory, It will also be about two great defenses going at it, with a mix of some timely plays on offense. Florida wins 23-20.
