Bayern Munich hosts Tottenham at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night in a not so significant clash as both teams have already secured their place in the next round. Both teams would love to rest their big names and test their youth product.

A lot has changed at both ends since their last encounter where Bayern demolished the north London sides by 7-2 at home. Nico Kovac has been sacked, and so is Mauricio Pochettino.

BAYERN MUNICH

It is one of those rare seasons where Bayern has been struggling in the domestic league. They are clearly missing something, maybe their irreplaceable old guards. Frank Ribery. Arjen Robben. They are sitting seventh on points table which is something no sane minds would have even thought of at the beginning of this season.

Though in the champions league, the club looked in a completely different avatar. They have won each of their five matches and scored 21 goals in the process. Robert Lewandowski is in red hot form, scoring goals for fun as he has been doing for the last few years.

Bayern already qualified for the knock-out stage and would be in no mood to play their best eleven. This means youngsters have a chance to seal their spot in the team with a prolific display. Bayern remains without Lucas Hernandez, Jann-Fiete Arp and, crucially, Niklas Sule.

TOTTENHAM

The arrival of Jose Mourinho has changed the whole atmosphere of the club. Suddenly, they are chasing the top four spots in the league. Under Mourinho, the Lillywhites has already scored 16 games across all competitions, including 5 against Burnley last Saturday. They have scored a minimum of 4 goals in their last 3 Champions league matches.

Although this fixture means very little in the context of qualification for both teams, Mourinho will be tempted to win this game at any cost and putting up the statement of intent.

Harry Kane is staying in London along with Jan Vertonghen, Dele Alli and Serge Aurier. So the Irish striker Troy Parrot is likely to lead the attack for the Spurs.
