Liverpool’s dream of regaining The Premier League Title after 29 years looks promising after Champions Manchester City’s defeats to Chelsea and Leicester City. Arsenal, on the other hand, have shown glimpse of the past, Emery looking to start his Era could highlight his reign by defeating Liverpool at Anfield – Which seem unlikely considering Liverpool’s home record.
Both sides attacking options shows that they are well and capable of scoring goals. Arsenal’s Aubameyang is the leading goals scorer this season (13). Lacazette, Ozil, Xhaka, and Torreira have all been in decent form, and Arsenal have scored more goals from outside the box than any other team this season (9). Liverpool’s Attacking trio looks even more formidable consisting of Xherdan Shaqiri who scored twice against Red Devils. Dutchman Van Dijk has been a defensive rock this season adding value to the side. Making their lackluster defence from last season look solid this campaign.
Arsenal’s defence needs to come to the party against Liverpool, who look favorites and expect them to extend their unbeaten run.
PREDICTION: Liverpool 3, Arsenal 2
Wolves (7-5-7) at Tottenham (15-0-4)
EPL: Saturday, December 29, 2018, at 08.30 PM ET (Wembley Stadium)
Tottenham host Wolves at Wembley, the newly promoted side to the Premier League have their task cut out in front of them. Meanwhile, Spurs have scored at least five goals in their last two Premier League games, beating Everton 6-2 and Bournemouth 5-0. They’ve never previously scored 5+ goals in three consecutive top-flight games. Tottenham’s run of wins started after their defeat against their London Rivals Arsenal. None of Spurs 19 League games have been drawn.
Wolves ambitions of staying in Premier League for another season are well on track after playing well away from home. They’re unbeaten playing in London this season (W2 D2). But Wolves haven’t beaten Spurs in their last 5 games.
Expect Pochettino’s side to grab all three points.
PREDICTION: TOTTENHAM 2, WOLVES 0
CHELSEA (12-4-3) at CRYSTAL PALACE (5-4-10)
EPL: Sunday, December 30, 2018, at 5 PM ET (Selhurst Park)
The high-flying Crystal Palace take on Chelsea – after their stunning victory against the Champions Manchester City, but a disappointing result for Roy Hudson’s men in their previous fixture against Cardiff – a goalless draw at home. Which seemed like an opportunity to get all three points. This London Derby looks competitive; Palace have won two of their last four outings against Chelsea; Last seasons same fixture saw Crystal Palace win (2-1).
The Eagles have the pace to trouble Chelsea’s defence, and Sarri’s side have never looked in good shape after conceding one goal. And if Palace score early on, we have got a game on our hands. All said and done, the difference between the two sides could be Eden Hazard who’s involved in 19 goals seasons for this Chelsea.
Chelsea will need to bring in their A game when they face Crystal Palace. I would pick Chelsea to win the London Derby.
PREDICTION: CHELSEA 2, CRYSTAL PALACE 0
AFC BOURNEMOUTH (8-2-9) at MANCHESTER UNITED (9-5-5)
EPL: Sunday, December 30, 2018, at 10 PM (Old Trafford)
Back to back victories for newly appointed Manchester United Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – who’s looking to become only the third Man United Manager to win his first three games in charge of the club, after Matt Busby and Jose Mourinho. The Red Devils look more confident after Mourinho’s departure, and Star Midfielder Paul Pogba has been directly involved in for goals in his last two Premier League games (2 goals, 2 assists), as many as in his previous 12 combined. Romelu Lakaku who’s been out of form this season – has scored seven goals in just six premier league games against Bournemouth, 6 of them came in his last 3 versus the Cherries.
Considering Bournemouth away results against top six sides, and they have never beaten United at Old Trafford. I would bet on Manchester United to hammer the Cherries in front of their home crowd.
PREDICTION: MANCHESTER UNITED 3, BOURNEMOUTH 1
CARDIFF CITY (4-3-12) at LEICESTER CITY (8-4-7)
EPL: Saturday, December 29, 2018, at 08.30 PM (King Power Stadium)
Leicester welcomes Neil Warnock side Cardiff City at the King Power Stadium. The Foxes are in rich vein of form, defeating Chelsea away from home (1-0) and Manchester City (2-1) on Boxing Day at home. Momentum is surely on Leicester’s side, and they would want to finish this year on a high note. No side has won from losing positions in the Premier League this season than Leicester (12 level with Arsenal).
Even a point for Cardiff City would see them safe from the Relegation Zone until the next matchday. The Bluebirds are just ahead by one win against the Foxes (24-23) having met 61 times. Cardiff have only scored once before the half-time in their last eight Premier League Fixtures
I see Leicester City winning this fixture, but expect a tight defence from Cardiff City.
PREDICTION: LEICESTER CITY 1, CARDIFF CITY 0
