Fiorentina will welcome Juventus to the Stadio Artemio Franchi for a clash that could see the Purples slide even further down the table. Vincenzo Montella has guided his team to two losses out of two this season. They will be gearing up for an arduous task in facing the Bianconeri, hours from now.

Juventus, on the other hand, have had a much better start to the 2019/2020 season. While they sit in second place, it is merely on goal difference. Inter Milan sit above the fray with only one goal conceded so far. Maurizio Sarri will be glad to guide his team through their third consecutive win of the season if they can see off Fiorentina.

La Viola started off their season with a hard-fought battle at home against Napoli. To their three goals, Napoli responded with four, snatching their hopes of having a single point away. In the next game against Genoa, Fiorentina were unable to see off the challenge and ended up with a 2-1 loss against them.

As they head into the third matchday, The Purples are one of only six teams in the Serie A to remain in search of a win. Also notable, they are one of only five teams to have taken two straight losses so far.

Having conceded six goals in merely two games, Montella’s main headache will be his defense. Such a leaky backline could be thoroughly devastated by the Bianconeri. He will need to sort out their defensive woes sooner rather than later, but it is unlikely that there is much they can do against Juventus.

Fiorentina’s attacking force, however, has shown a bit more spark. They’ve helped the team’s cause with four goals in two games, and could put in one or two against Juventus.

Fiorentina are also lucky in terms of injuries. They don’t have any key player out on the sidelines, and can field their full squad against Juventus. The Purples will also hope to see more from Franck Ribery, especially against a team as strong as the Bianconeri.

The Juventini have had a strong start to the season. A single goal against Parma on the first matchday was enough to grow confidence in the squad. The next tough game against Napoli was a thriller for the fans, but perhaps more of a headache for the coaching staff. With 3 goals conceded in that game, Maurizio Sarri will be worried about his defense as well.

Granted, Napoli has been the singular thorn in the defense of both sides, but there isn’t much of an excuse for letting a 3-0 lead go to waste. Apart from this, Juventus have not had their head coach with them on the field for the last two games. In the past weeks, Sarri has had to deal with pneumonia which has kept him from the pitch-side. However, it looks like he’ll be available for this game, and that will excite the Juventini to no end.

On the injury front, Juventus are already a little throttled. Giorgiono Chiellini remains out on injury, along with Mattia De Sciglio. However, most of the first team squad remain available for this away game. Cristiano Ronaldo has already opened his scoring this season against Napoli, and Juventus will hope that he can perform against Fiorentina as well.

The traveling fans will be expecting a win, as will the pundits. However, Sarri is aware that over-confidence will put the squad in dire straits. The Bianconeri will need to remain at a high level if they are to take their third win of the season at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Fiorentina have had an abysmal record in the Serie A for 16 games. They have been unable to win. While the transfer window has brought in some quality players like Ribery, there is still much work to be done. Juventus, however, have continued to succeed, even without Maurizio Sarri. Not only will they have their manager back, but also increased confidence. Last time at the same stadium, they beat Fiorentina 3-0, and they can achieve another win again.
