Free English Premier League Picks Fulham vs. Manchester City
It’s matchday 32 in the Premier League as Manchester City travel to Craven Cottage to play host Fulham on Saturday. The Citizens will look to move above Liverpool, which would see them take one point lead over the Reds. City are currently second in the table but have played a game less than Liverpool – who host Spurs on Sunday. Fulham are second last from bottom in the table and have seven games to save their Premier League season. The Cottagers have lost their last seven matches and are winless in 13 games against Manchester City in all competitions (W0 D3 L10). Last time these two sides met at the Etihad Stadium in September, Fulham were beaten 3-0 by the Champions.
It’s hard to get back to winning ways when you have lost seven consecutive games and then you have to play Manchester City who are the contenders to win the Premier League and Champions League as well. Fulham could not hold on Liverpool for a draw which might have been a good result them and their opponents on Saturday. Throughout their campaign, Fulham kept on conceding at least twice in each of their last 11 Premier League matches – a record in the competition. New manager Scott Parker inclusion has seen minor improvements and positives to the side but you need more than that to face a side of City’s caliber. Jean Michael Seri and Tim Ream will be assessed before the game, having returned from international duties. Alfie Manson remains sidelined with a knee injury. Fulham forward Andre Schurrle is expected to start after missing five games.
Manchester City will be bolstered by the return of Kevin de Bruyne, Fernandinho, John Stones, Benjamin Mendy, Vincent Kompany, and Nicolas Otamendi. The only names who are unexpected to play are Fabian Delph and goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. The Champions are chasing back to back Premier League titles and this could prove to be the deciding match day if Liverpool loses to Spurs on Sunday – which would mean City will be four points clear of the Reds. Man City haven’t failed to score against Fulham in all competitions since a 0-0 draw in March 2004, netting 51 goals in their 23 games since. City fans would expect an easy win but strange thing have happened in the Premier League before, even a draw will be a good result for the cottagers. Pep Guardiola will be hoping his side can do a quadruple-winning season for his team but there’s still a long way to go before that to happen. Aleksandar Mitrovic can cause problems in the box and he will be marked by a defender.
