Free Serie A Pick Juventus vs Parma

Juventus will host Parma on matchday 20 and look to maintain their lead atop Serie A.

Juventus have won each of their last 4 games in Serie A after falling 3-1 to Lazio more than a month ago. Juventus have looked a little disjointed at times this season under coach Maurizio Sarri and though they have been playing the kind of free flowing football that Sarri made popular at Napoli, it seems that the squad hasn't become completely accustomed to Sarri's methods. However, being the footballing giants that they are and the financial gap they maintain over the rest of Serie A, they have been able to grind out results and have sometimes beaten teams who were better than them on the pitch, great examples being their recent 2-1 win over Roma and Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid.

Parma are playing just their second season in the Italian top flight after gaining promotion in 2017/18 which makes it surprising that they are on the heels of sixth place Cagliari and aiming to gain qualification to the Europa League. In their last 3 Serie A fixtures, they have drawn, lost and won during which they have scored 3 goals and conceded 6 including a 5-0 drubbing away at Atalanta. They were also eliminated from the Coppa Italia two days ago by strong opposition in Roma but what they are going to face on Sunday is a different beast altogether. It will be an interesting match-up but it will most likely be the 35-time Italian champions who will come out on top.

Last Time Out

Juventus and Parma met at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on the first matchday of the current Serie A season. The scoreline of 1-0 did not reflect Juventus' domination on the pitch and it was captain Giorgio Chiellini's 21st minute goal that proved to be the winner while a Cristiano Ronaldo goal was later ruled out for offside.

Key Players

The resurgence of Paulo Dybala this season has seen him become an integral part of Sarri's starting XI and he has repaid his boss with a string of terrific performances, in many of which, he has been the difference maker and has proved himself almost as irreplaceable as one of the best forwards in world football - Cristiano Ronaldo. Gonzalo Higuain has also been in great form but Sarri has himself admitted that he is still in search of a system that would perfectly fit this trio of world-class stars. The most frequently used attacking line-up consists of Dybala and Ronaldo, who have worked very well as a cohesive unit to help propel Juventus to the position they are in now.
