Chelsea visit Leicester with the aim of strengthening their position in the top 4 and cutting Leicester's lead over them to 5 points.
After a sensational start to the season that saw them in 2nd place for much of their campaign until the new year, Leicester seem to have fallen off the pace slightly as they have surrendered 2nd position to the defending champions after losses to Manchester City and Liverpool in December and to Southampton and Burnley in January. Their contention for Champions League qualification is as strong as it could be as they hold a 14-point lead over 5th place Manchester United but they will feel hard done by after their elimination from the Carabao Cup by Aston Villa after having dominated much of the game and created more chances. Despite that, they are a very competent team under Brendan Rodgers and have the strength to be able to defeat any Premier League side.
Chelsea, and particularly Frank Lampard, have beaten the odds and performed sensationally with a team full of young talent that have made their mark in several positions. Prior to the season commencing, bettors were pessimistic about Chelsea's chances as they had lost their, and one of the world's, best player of the last few years in Eden Hazard and to rub salt on their wounds, had been handed a transfer ban that prevented them from replacing him. However, this has proved to be a boon as Lampard has had to rely on young players who have turned out to be sensational talents and almost eliminated the need for big name signings. Similar to Leicester, they have not been at their best of late, having lost 6 of their last 12 league games and won 4.
This will be a very close contest with both teams capable of getting one over the other. It will be a battle of the respective managers' tactics and the odds are about evenly distributed in either team winning or the contest ending in shared points for both teams.
