Free English Premier League Picks Tottenham vs. Brighton
Tottenham welcome Brighton in the Premier League on Tuesday as they look to get back to winning ways and stay in the top four. Spurs have won all three of their home games in all competitions since moving into their stadium, scoring seven goals and conceding none. Despite their defeat to Manchester City in their previous match – Tottenham remain on 3rd position in the Premier League table and thanks to Chelsea’s draw against Burnley on Monday and Arsenal’s defeat to Crystal Palace. Brighton, on the other hand, are just three points above Cardiff on 17th. Brighton haven’t won a game in their last five encounters (L4, D1) and Chris Hughton would be hoping his team can earn a valuable point.
Spurs will need to replicate their Champions League form into the Premier League, if they’re to stay in the top four. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have lost 3 from their last five games. Although, the Lilywhites have been good in finishing of these games and their home record has been outstanding as well. Spurs have won all eight home games against sides currently in the bottom half of the table. Defeat against Southampton has caused them to be concerned about their place in the top four.
Tottenham’s only test from their remaining four fixtures is against Everton at the Goodson park on the final day of the season. Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris is expected to be fit for the game, but might be rested for their midweek game against Ajax in the Champions League. Meanwhile, Erik Lamela and Harry Wink are doubtful for the match. Moussa Sissoko sustained a groin injury while playing in the Champion League against City and is out for two weeks.
Brighton’s draw over Wolves at home gained them a much wanted point in their ambitions of staying in the Premier League for another season. Brighton’s loss to Cardiff (2-0) who are in the dropzone has mounted pressure on Chris Hughton’s side, which was also their fifth defeat in a row. Brighton’s remaining fixtures after this game are against – Newcastle United (H), Arsenal (A) and Manchester City (H).
These are all tough matches for the Seagulls and they’ll face a stiff competition from Neil Warnock’s side – if they’re unable to gain a point at least. Brighton have now failed to score in their last five Premier League games – the longest current run of any side in the competition, and the joint-longest such run in total this season, matching Southampton’s record from earlier in the campaign. The Seagulls will be without Davy Propper on Tuesday, Jurgen Locadia is expected to play in the starting eleven. Anthony Knockaert is serving a three match ban he received while playing against Bournemouth.
