Manchester United will be trying to bounce back after a poor performance over this past weekend. They will still likely come in second place because they are three points in front of Tottenham Hotspur, while also having a game in hand. Man United dominated Brighton & Hove Albion, but were unable to score on their many chances. They took sixteen shots in total, but only three were on goal. In terms of their defending, it was not that terrible. They did allow Brighton to take eleven shots with four being on goal. The goal they did allow was from a point blank header that came very close to being saved, but was deemed a goal by the referee. Even with Man United likely coming in second, their manager, Jose Mourinho, was quoted saying, “Man United ‘needs more quality’ in their summer rebuild.” Winning today could be very important to possibly determine who will stay at the club versus who could depart.

West Ham United is fighting for their Premier League lives as they are still in trouble of being relegated. Having only thirty-eight points with two games remaining puts them in a must win situation in today’s match. They have had a little success against Manchester United in recent years, earning points in five of the last ten games. Unfortunately, Javier Hernandez, will miss this game because he is still recovering from a knee injury. The key to this match is limiting Man United’s attack. The defenders are going to have to play the best game of their lives in order to repel a potent United attack. If Man United scores early, West Ham will be in for a long day.

Even though this game means a lot more for West Ham United, in terms of their final standing, Manchester United will need to show they can still compete at a high level even if the game does not mean much. With the home crowd behind them, West Ham will earn an important point today in a draw.

There is a very clear theme to United's transfer strategy this summer. And it marks a departure from the previous two seasons #mufc

Been reading all weekend about the James Collins situation. Find it sad that a player that loves playing for West Ham and is adored by the fans is treated in such a disgraceful and disrespectful way. Deserves so much better. @davidgold @WestHamUtd
